Whisker & Wildflower is a natural-light portrait studio working across Perth and down through the South West — Dunsborough, Margaret River, Nannup, Yallingup, and a few paddocks we’d rather keep to ourselves.
Here’s the whole idea. We start about forty minutes before sunset, walk somewhere with you, and let the session sort itself out. For the first twenty minutes everyone is a bit stiff and that’s completely fine — it’s the warm-up. By the last twenty minutes the light has gone soft and low, the sun is coming through the grass sideways, and everyone has forgotten there’s a camera. That’s the bit we’re there for.
Practical things, because they matter more than the philosophy: no studio backdrops, no flash, no fold-out reflectors, no shot list to work through. If the dog needs twenty minutes to sniff everything first, we shoot after. If your toddler loses it halfway, that’s usually where the good frames start — we’ll wait it out with you and a packet of sultanas.
Business portraits get exactly the same treatment. A jetty, a laneway, the grass behind your workshop, and twenty minutes of light that makes anyone look like they meant to be there.

A short call or a long text thread — whichever you prefer. We lock in a spot, a start time about forty minutes before sunset, and sort out what everyone’s wearing. Short version: earthy tones, and please not matching white shirts.
A private online gallery about ten days later — every keeper, fully edited, downloadable at print size with a print release. No per-photo upsells and no watermarks you have to buy your way out of.

Up to six people. Long enough that the kids get bored of us, which is precisely the point. We walk, we talk, we take almost nothing in the first half hour.
Your beach, your oval, your back verandah. Sniffing time is built into the hour, not taken out of it. Bring the good treats and the squeaky thing they actually care about.
The whole household. Two hours means we can shoot the dog properly, shoot the people properly, and still get the messy one of all of you together when the light goes orange.
Travel beyond 90 minutes is charged at cost — usually fuel and, if it’s a Margaret River sunset in January, a night’s accommodation split between bookings on the same trip. We’ll tell you the number before you commit to anything.
